MOU Ceremony: Project HOPE and the Governor of Iwate

On May 31, 2011, an MOU (memorandum of understanding) signing ceremony
was held regarding collaboration between Project Hope and the Governor of Iwate Prefecture. Project Hope is an international medical relief provider headquartered in the USA, and Operation RISING SUN is the branch of Project HOPE that is providing aid to Japan. In attendance were representatives from HGPI helping to make adjustments, Takuya Tasso, the Governor of Iwate, Operation RISING SUN manager Fred Gerber, along with disaster area medical volunteers and donors. During the ceremony there was discussion regarding the future for children affected by the disaster, and a potential scholarship program providing American education.
