Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) convened “World No Tobacco Day Evening Seminar -Tobacco Countermeasure: Lessons learned and Scientific Evidence for Future Actions-” at Toshi Center Hotel Tokyo on May 30th.
HGPI first convened an Urgent Session “Critical Issues in Tobacco Policy – Promotion of Health and Price Policy” in 2009.
And since then, we have continuously proposed policy recommendations and worked to disseminate information related to cutting-edge tobacco policies based on the discussions with a range of stakeholders. Proceeding this event, “World No Tobacco Day,” that will focus on raising awareness about the harmful impact of tobacco use on health globally, will take place on May 31st, we convened multi-stakeholder discussion at national and international levels, and devised policy recommendations for Japan.
