About Dementia

As average life expectancies continue to rise, dementia is becoming a key policy issue in Japan and around the world. HGPI views dementia as a global health policy issue and has been working to encourage policy responses for dementia on a global scale. In pursuit of our mission of “promoting multi-stakeholder collaboration to advance dementia policy,” HGPI conducts research, holds surveys, and formulates policy proposals while deepening links with various stakeholders based on three pillars: (1) building a global platform; (2) emphasizing the perspectives of people living with dementia; and (3) identifying and disseminating policy issues.
