Shunichiro Kurita, HGPI Associate was the moderator for the symposium “Future issues on dementia in Japan and the world” cohosted by Japan Medical Association(JMA) and The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America(PhRMA).
In this symposium, presentations and a panel discussion were held and discussed the system of supporting people with dementia detected to realize early and precise diagnosis and improve the quality of life. And also they discussed these were necessity of multi-stakeholder cooperation, such as patients, policy makers, JMA, pharmaceutical companies in developing therapeutic agents.
HGPI has recognized dementia as an important issue, has conducted the survey of “Initiative for the Advancement of Dementia Research and Social System Innovation through Global Public Private Partnerships (PPP)”.
