Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) Manager Mr. Shunichiro Kurita gave a special lecture at the 23rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus. In the talk, titled “The Current State of Japan’s Dementia Policy and the Significance and Future of iNPH Treatment,” Mr. Kurita gave an overview of dementia policy today and how it can advance policy for treating idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH), which is a form of dementia that improves with treatment. He then talked about future possibilities for iNPH policy when applying a policy process-based model.
HGPI’s Dementia Policy Project is currently advancing a project titled, “Current Issues and Future Prospects for iNPH Measures – Focusing on a Form of Dementia that Improves with Treatment.” While collaborating with members of our advisory board and supporters of people living with iNPH, we will continue efforts and issue policy recommendations for this topic.
