Comments by Shunichiro Kurita, Senior Manager of Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI), were published in the online editions of the Shizuoka Shimbun and the Hokkaido Shimbun.
The articles were written ahead of the Basic Act for Dementia came into effect on January 1, 2024. Kurita stated as a future challenge, “The situation of access to transportation, medical care, and long-term care services differs between urban and rural areas. I hope that the voices of persons with dementia and related parties will be heard at the local government level, and that measures that suit the local conditions will be promoted.”
