Comments by Mr. Shunichiro Kurita, Senior Manager of Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI), were published in Nippon.com’s article as part of the special series titled “Living with Dementia.”
The article introduces a case study of elderly people with dementia who are living well with dementia by sharing enjoyable experiences through participating in local bamboo grove maintenance activities. Based on the Basic Act on Dementia, Kurita emphasized the importance of actions by local governments and municipalities nationwide to support residents who engage in such community-building efforts.
